Welcome back to the new season. We will continue to train at St Laurence from 6.30 on Wednesdays moving to a 6.00pm start later to make the most of the light. We have two friendlies: this Wednesday 2nd September against Bradford United Reserves at Poulton Field k.o. 6.30 (be there at 6.00) and Sunday 6th September against Coombe Down at Winsley k.o. 2.30. We need to finalise the squad so we need 2 forms (a league registration plus a club registration), 2 passport size photos, a cheque for £60 (or £30 and £30 balance at Christmas) and if you did not sign for us last season proof of birthday (photocopy of birth certificate or passport). Both forms are on the website and I will collect them if you call me. The first game of the season is likely to be the 13th September and Simon will be club captain this season.

Hello To all. Welcome to your football club…
This is where you will find all sorts of information, news and other wonderful things about our age group and Bradford Town Youth Football Club in general.
The first thing to pass on is any information you will need to register for the coming season.

What to expect!!
I have already had the pleasure of coaching my older son from the under 6′s age group through to the under12′s. As a result , I have experienced and more importantly learned a great deal. This being key in that there is a great deal I always thought I could have done better.
All our coaches at Bradford Town Youth will have had to have at least done their Level1 Coaching badge. If you would like to become more involved I will come back to this point. Completing the badge is a very rewarding experience, full of fun and practical information, as well as making certain checks to ensure the right people are involved in youth football. Along with this I also have been FA Level2 trained. This will become more important as our children get older as its more technical. Player development, skills and tactics and such.
For now the main objective is about having fun. So don’t worry, I won’t be trying to get them to understand the offside rule. Yet!
I will add that sometime in late September I have been put forward by our club to be in a group of coaches that will take part in the very first Wilts FA course on age awareness . A new course designed to highlight specific agendas depending on age. (I get a free polo shirt and whiteboard. Cant wait!)
What you can do to help?
I mentioned I would be coming back to this point. I need help!
If we all pull together it makes things run a lot smoother. There is a lot of equipment to help in running a session and I will need some help just setting-up and putting things away. This is not a great deal of work but any help would be appreciated.
But I need more! I would like to offer one or two lucky people the chance to start the long road into top flight management. To become a FA qualified coach. I will find it very hard to coach all the children by myself. And as more players come along the harder it will get.
An insight of the course is here. Please feel free to ask me any questions about this. As I said it’s really good fun. The course will be paid for by the club and does not take too much time to complete. Do not worry about the dates, there are many to choose from.
As well as myself. My partner Becky will be coming along to help administer as it were, she will take the register and bring the all important biscuits! My older son James, who plays for the U12′s will also come along from time to time to help out. This is a great asset. I have always found that the younger players look up to and learn in a different way from an older child.
With us all pulling together. New coaches on board. I have no doubt we will be having lots fun learning new skills with many happy times to come.
Thanks for taking the time to read all this. This is where I will post little bits and pieces. Useful information. Photographs and the like.
What I will not post here are times and places of training sessions. For safety reasons as a club we feel this is sensible. Although it’s possible to password secure posts which I can give out so that only those who we want to read/view can do so.
Please check back soon for more.
Look forward to meeting you at training.
